Vancouver travel tips
Destination Vancouver
Vancouver: The Canadian city, which promotes itself with the slogan "spectacular by Nature," is a scenic standout. Nestled between mountains and sea, the canyons of houses offer views of lush greenery or blue seas.
When to visit this modern "garden metropolis"
It rains relatively often in Vancouver. The best time to visit is from May to October. Between Jan. 21 and Feb. 21, the Chinese New Year is celebrated on the first full moon of the year with street food, fireworks and many attractions. At the end of June, the "Vancouver International Jazz Festival" takes place, which is the largest of its kind on the West Coast. Over 400 concerts await music-loving visitors. Canada's National Day is celebrated on July 1 with parades, air and naval shows. At the end of July or beginning of August, the best pyrotechnicians compete for the favor of the spectators at the "Celebration of Light", a fireworks festival. In September, a 10-day theater festival takes place.

The airport surcharge is about 5 CAD, which is waived when using a season ticket or a day pass for about 9.75 CAD. A cab ride costs about 30 CAD.
Light rail, bus lines, trolley buses and ferries cover local transportation at the above costs. After 18:30 and on weekends, each ride costs 2.75 CAD. Note: bus fares must be paid for using the exact change, no change is given by bus drivers. Cabs cost about 10 CAD for the first 3 km, each additional kilometer costs about 2 CAD. Many sights can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle.
Overnight stays in guesthouses or backpacker hostels cost from about 35 CAD per night, in 3-star hotels on average from about 90 CAD/night/person.
