Singapore - Changi Airport is one of the largest airports worldwide and handles more than 40 million passengers annually. Singapore is an important hub between Europe's airports and airports in South East Asia and Oceania, and the hub of regional carriers Jetstar Airways, SilkAir, Singapore Airlines, Tiger Airways and Valueair. Some airlines, such as Qantas, use Singapore as a major hub for their long haul flights.

Changi enjoyed great popularity from the time of its opening in the 80s and has continued to grow. It is now one of the most important stopovers on the so-called "Kangaroo route" to Australasia.

Location

The airport was opened in 1981 and is located 20 km or 14 miles north east of downtown. The airport is well connected to the city by public transport and a well developed infrastructure of roads. The quickest way to reach the centre of Singapore is using the access road, the Pan Island Expressway and the East Coast Parkway.

The East-West Line 3 inks the airport to the local subway system of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). There are also various bus services operated by Super Bus Transit Services (SBS) and SMRT. Alternatively, please use a taxi, rent a car or a limousine service to get to and from the airport.
