Location
The airport was opened on 1.1.1999, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic and is located about 35 km or 20 miles south east of downtown in the district of Pudong. It is accessible by car via the signposted Yingbin Expressway.
Between the airport and Long Yang Road Metro Station (30 km covered in about 8 minutes) the only magnetically powered high speed train in the world (Shanghai Maglev Train). The Metro lines 2 and 10 also stop at the terminals. All current departure times are available locally.
