Cancun: Nature and culture unite

Cancún is a city in Mexico with breathtaking flair and interesting culture.

Cancún is a year-round destination due to its climate. However, the best time to travel is from November to April, since from May to October there is a risk of tropical storms due to the rainy season. In February during Carnival week there are many parades, floats and fireworks in Cancún. In April, the "Semana Santa", the Holy Week until Easter Sunday takes place. It is the most important holiday in Mexico. On November 1 and 2, "Día de los Muertos", the deceased are commemorated with flowers and symbols of the dead, as well as grave decorations.

For US citizens entry is possible without a visa. The required tourist card is issued upon entry and must be presented again upon departure. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months. The export of antiques, cacti, archaeological finds, protected animals or corals is also prohibited. Alcohol may not be consumed on the street; this may be punishable by imprisonment or fines.
