Volaris currently owns a fleet of 102 aircraft, 6 of which are A 319s and 40 A320s.
History
The Mexican low-cost airline Volaris was founded in 2005 in Toluca, about 50 kilometres west of Mexico City. The airline's shareholders consist of Mexico's largest television station Televisa, the Salvadoran airline TACA, the Mexican bank Inbursa and the investment company Protego Discovery Fund.
Network
Volaris has three hubs, in Mexico City, Tijuana and Guadalajara. From there, regular flights are operated to more than thirty different airports within Mexico, such as Acapulco, Cancun or Oaxaca. In the USA, more than 80 destinations can be reached through the cooperation with Frontier Airlines, including Chicago, Denver, San Francisco or Phoenix. Volaris also flies internationally to Bogota, Guatemala City, Lima and San Jose in Costa Rica.
