The airline Volaris currently owns 13 Airbus A 319; another 22 have been ordered. Delivery is expected by 2012.
The Mexican low-cost airline Volaris was founded in 2005 in Toluca, about 50 miles west of Mexico City. The shareholders of the airline company are the largest Mexican television station Televisa, the Salvadorian airline TACA, the Mexican bank Inbursa and the Investment company Protego Discovery Fund.
Currently Volaris serves exclusively Mexican destinations. Altogether 15 cities are served from Toluca: Aguascalientes, Cancun, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Leon Bajio, Los Cabos, Merida, Mexicali, Monterrey, Morelia, Puebla, Tijuana and Villahermosa.
