Airport Rome-Fiumicino FCO
Rome Fiumicino Airport, also known as the Aeroporto internazionale Leonardo da Vinci, is the largest and most important airport in Italy and its capital Rome. With a total of 32 million passengers handled annually, it is one of the 50 largest airports in the world. Besides Fiumicino, Rome also has one other airport, the by far smaller Ciampino that has in recent years been used by a number of low cost carriers.- URL: Official website

- Directions by car: From Rome on the A90 to the junction with the A91 following this to the end; from Civitavecchia on the A12 to the junction with the A91, then follow the signs to the airport.
- Stations: From Roma Termini station the "Leonardo Express" runs at 30 minute intervals or take the city rail line FM1 to t he airport.
Location
Leonardo da Vinci Airport, opened in 1961, is about 20 miles southwest of downtown Rome and is easily accessible using the motorway. Take the Rome ring road A90 (Grande Raccordo Anulare) to the exit for the A91 (Autostrada Roma-Aeroporto di Fiumicino), which leads directly to the Rome Fiumicino departure terminal. From Civitavecchia take the A12/E80 to the junction with the A91 and then follow the "Aeroporto" signs. Alternatively from Rome inner city take the 601 Superstrada to the coastal town of Lido di Ostia.
Rail passengers take trains to the main railway station Roma-Termini and the use the "Leonardo Express" trains that run at 30 minute intervals or the city rail FM1 that leaves serves the airport from the stations Termini, Tuscolana, Ostiense and Trastevere. The journey takes about 35 minutes.
The bus companies Terravision Shuttle and Cotral Lines also operate buses directly to the airport. The company Schiaffini Travel also operates a daily service from Fiumcino to Campino airport.
