British Airways was founded in 1935 in London and is one of the largest airlines in the world with regards to the number of annual flights and passenger numbers. British Airways is also a founding member of the Oneworld alliance, which connects over 650 destinations in 140 countries. Besides its headquarters at London Heathrow Airport, British Airways has its second base in London Gatwick and operates flights to approximately 150 destinations including six domestic airports. It is one of the nine airlines that fly to the 6 inhabited continents (the other 8 being Delta, Emirates, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and United Airlines).
