Atlanta - Hartsfield Jackson International Airport is the most used and a very important airport in Georgia, USA. Location
Atlanta airport was first in use in 1925 and is located 16 km/11 miles south of downtown Atlanta. It is easy to reach the terminal building via the Interstate I-285 leaving at exit 61, Interstate I-85, exit 71, Georgia State Route #6 or the US-Highway 29.
The airport has a Metro Station, which is at the western side of the airport between the south terminal and the north terminal. The station is served by the "Red Line" and "Yellow Line" trains of Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). The bus numbers 72, 78, 82, 88, 89, 180, 181 and 189 also stop at the airport.
Passengers arriving at the airport by train please use the bus number 110 to Five Point Transit Center in downtown, changing for the "Red Line" or "Yellow Line" and head for the Airport Metro Station.
Since 2009, the ATL Skytrain, a people mover has been operating trains between the Main Terminal and the Rental Car Center (RCC) on the other side of the Interstate I-85 . This can transport up to 300 passengers in each direction in about 5 minutes and also stop at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC).
