The airport is about 5 miles west of downtown. From Baia Mare use the Strada Indepente (DN 1C/ES-8) towards Satu Mare and then follow the signs to the airport.

Rail and bus passengers head for Baia Mare station or the central bus station and then use either a taxi or the shuttle bus operated by TAROM, which leaves 60 minutes before every TAROM flight from the city office on Bucuresti Boulevard.
