Fleet
Currently, Spirit has a total of 37 aircraft from the company Airbus Industries; another 40 machines of the type A-319-100 have been ordered in Toulouse, with delivery expected in 2009 at the earliest.
History
Spirit Airlines, an American low-cost airline, was founded in 1989 as Charter One in Michigan, and initially served only regional destinations. Since 2006, the airline has also provided a frequent flyer program. The airline maintains hubs at Detroit Airport, as well as in Fort Lauderdale.
Network
The airline mainly offers international charter flights to destinations in South America and the Caribbean. From its two hubs in Fort Lauderdale and Detroit, Spirit Airlines currently flies to a total of 41 different destinations, including Aruba, Cancun, Guatemala City, Lima, Nassau, Montego Bay, San Jose and San Pedro Sula.
