The private low-cost airline Jazeera Airways was established in 2005 in Kuwait City jointly by the Kuwaiti multinational Boodai Group and some financial representatives of the Emir. Since 30th October 2005 the company has been successfully operating flights within the Middle East, in North Africa and on the Indian subcontinent. Currently (Summer 2007), the airline flies from its two hubs Kuwait and Dubai regularly to 18 different airports, including to Larnaca, Alexandria, Beirut, Tehran, Damascus, Salalah, Muscat, Bombay and Bahrain. The company has set itself the aim of becoming the market leader in the region’s low-cost flights sector in the coming years. To achieve this, the company has ordered another 30 Airbus A320 at the Air Show 2007 in Paris.
