First in use in 1956, the airport is about 18 km or 11 miles east of the Tasmanian capital, Hobart. It is off the Highway 3 (Tasmanian Highway). There is a daily bus that operates a shuttle service between the airport and the Transit Centre (bus terminal) in Hobart before each flight and after every arrival. Alternatively, please take a taxi or rent a car, or take one of the Redline Coaches that serve various cities on the island.
