Location
The airport was opened in 1913 and is located 3 km (1 mile) south of downtown. To get to the airport motorists can use the A1 highway leaving at the junction to Arsten and the A27 highway, exit Bremen-Ocean City. The airport is also accessible on the A281 and the main road B57.
Between the Airport and the city the tram line 6 operates a regular service, the journey time is 16 to 20 minutes. The "bus2fly" shuttle operates regular services from Hamburg central bus station directly to the airport in Bremen, they are timed to coincide with the arrival and departure times of the Ryanair flights.
