History
The Colombian airline Servicio Aéreo a Territorios Nacionales (Satena) was founded in 1962 in the capital Bogota by the then State President of the country in order to aid the development of all economically underdeveloped regions of Colombia. Since 12th December 1968, the national airline has been managed by the Columbian Defence Ministry. The airline has expanded continually and has been regularly modernised since it was founded and now boasts one of the newest and most modern fleets in Colombia.

From the headquarters, and hub in Bogota all major airports in Colombia are served regularly, such as Apartado, Cucuta, Tame, Medellin, Cali, Tumaco, Araracuara, Tarapaca, Nuqui and Popayan.
