The Latvian airline AIR BALTIC CORPORATION (airBaltic) was founded in September 1995. The main shareholders are the Latvian state, which owns 52.6% of the shares and SAS AB with 47.2%. The airlines seat is in Riga. From there, airBaltic flies to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Copenhagen, Dublin, Hamburg, Helsinki, Kiev, London, Manchester, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, Oslo, Stockholm, Tallinn, Vienna and Vilnius. AirBaltic plans to take up flights from Riga to Stuttgart. From its second hub in Vilnius, airBaltic flies to Berlin, Cologne, Copenhagen, Dublin, Hamburg, Helsinki, Oslo, Tallinn and Vienna, and plans to start flying from Vilnius to London (Gatwick) and Munich.

Fleet

In August 2009 Air Baltic's fleet consisted of 31 aircraft: 2 Boeing 757-200, 10 Boeing 737-500, 8 Boeing 737-300 and 11 Fokker 50 .
