Vancouver is the third largest city in the North American state of Canada. It is a bustling metropolis with plenty of attractions.

Located in southwestern British Columbia, Vancouver lies in a region with a high precipitation rate. Especially in the months from November to March very frequent rainfall is to be expected. The best time for a trip to Vancouver is therefore in the period from May to October, a drier period when the numerous sights of the city can better be enjoyed. What to consider before traveling to Vancouver

In Canada, smoking is strictly prohibited in all public buildings, including bars and restaurants. In addition, the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public is prohibited. Alcoholic beverages are only sold in licensed stores.

In Vancouver, you can buy lunch from about 16 CAD, beer, soft drinks and coffee cost about 7, 2 and 5 CAD respectively. If you want to bring more than 10,000 CAD into the country, you have to declare this on entering.

Once you arrive in Vancouver by plane, there are several ways to get to the city center. By cab, a one-way trip costs about 30 CAD. Alternatively, you can use the regularly scheduled rapid transit line, the "Canada Line". The fare is about 9.75 CAD if you buy a day pass. Most of Vancouver's sights and tourist destinations are within easy walking distance of the city center.

Accommodation prices vary depending on the accommodation chosen. In a guesthouse or backpacker hostel they start from about 35 CAD per night, for 3-star hotels you have to estimate about 90 CAD per person per night.
