Preparing for a trip to Honululu

The cost of living in Honolulu is high. Those who visit a restaurant will pay an average $16 per meal. In resorts, food is more expensive.

Tourists should also note that staying on the famous Waikiki Beach is allowed only until midnight. Violations will be punished.

Cabs take vacationers from the Honolulu airport to the hotel resorts in the Waikiki district in 15 minutes. One way costs about $40 to $45 plus about $0.50 per piece of luggage. Considerably cheaper is the SpeediShuttle shuttle bus, which costs around $15.50 for a transfer from Honolulu Airport. Public transportation with TheBus is not recommended for this route due to strict luggage regulations and a long trip of at least 50 minutes.
