Shaheen Air International currently (as of 2007) owns seven Boeing 737-200 aircraft.
The Pakistani airline Shaheen Air International was founded in December 1993 in Karachi, as a project of the Pakistani Air Force. After being granted a license, the airline was able to operate its first flight in 1995 between Peshawar and Dubai. The company successfully became the second national airline of Pakistan. In July 2004, the Canadian company TAWA International Inc. took over the airline, which had in the meantime been financially hit by the many new Pakistani low-cost airlines.
