Fleet
Air Algérie's fleet consists of 30 aircraft of the types Airbus, Boeing and Aerospatiale: 5 Airbus A330-200, 5 Boeing 737-600, 10 Boeing 737-800, 3 Boeing 737-300, 1 Boeing 737-200 and 6 ATR 72-500.
History
Air Algérie was established in 1947 as the Compagnie Generale de Transport. The airline was given its present name in 1962 when Algeria gained independence. One year later, the Algerian government brought 51% of the airline from Air France, increasing this share to 83% in 1970 and then completely buying up the airline in 1973. Since then Air Algérie has been a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization, an association of Arab airlines.
Network
The network includes national as well as north African and international destinations in North America and the Middle East. European destinations include Frankfurt, London, Paris, Geneva, Basel, Brussels, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Istanbul and Moscow.
