Airport Edinburgh EDI

Edinburgh Airport, also called Turnhouse Aerodrome, is in Edinburgh, Scotland. Edinburgh Airport is operated by BAA plc, which also owns the airports Aberdeen, Glasgow International, London-Gatwick, London-Heathrow, London-Stansted and Southampton. The 8th largest airport in the United Kingdom is located 13 km west of Edinburgh city center and provides a link between the city and many European cities and the growing international long-distance flight network.

The airport may also be reached from the north and west using the A8 from Edinburgh towards Glasgow. A connection between the airport and the city center of Edinburgh as well as the Inverkeithing Railway Station in Fife is momentarily provided by the Express buses (Airlink 100). Lothian Buses provides a bus service with its route 35 running between the airport and Leith’s Ocean Terminal via South Gyle, Sighthill and Fountainbridge. Airdirect 747 has been operated since 20.02.2006 by Stagecoach, linking the airport with the Inverkeithing Railway Station and Ferrytoll Park & Ride. Edinburgh’s central station Waverly is in the city center and may be reached by bus or taxi. Most trains also go from Edinburgh Haymarket Station, which is to be found on the main route between the airport and the city center.
