WAS is the metropolitan area code for Washington D.C. area. There are three major airports in the city area of Washington DC:Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is in Arlington, Virginia, south of the city. It is the closest airport to the city of Washington DC and is linked to the city by the metro: Yellow Line or Blue Line.
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is 26 miles west of the city in Dulles. Coaches take passengers to and from the airport from the city. It is the biggest of Washington DC’s airports.
