Location
The airport was first opened in 1928 and is located about 13 km or 8 miles northwest of downtown Tampa, on the eastern shore of Tampa Bay. It is best reached using the Interstate # 275, Florida State Road # 93, exit 39, on State Route # 60 or via the Florida 589 Toll Road.
Between the airport and the Marion Transit Center (MTC) in downtown Tampa, or the Northwest Transfer Center in Town 'n' Country there is a regular bus route 30 of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART). Departures times are available locally. Otherwise, please use taxis, rental cars and limousines for the onward journey.
