Best Time to Travel to Mumbai

Mumbai's tropical climate enjoys three seasons: Summer, Monsoon and Winter. The best time to visit is during the winter months, between November and February, when temperatures typically reach a maximum of 30°C and a minimum of 17°C. Avoid visiting Mumbai during the monsoon season, which runs from June to September.

Some travelers may also want to consider Cholera if they are planning a trip during the monsoon season, Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies are likewise recommended. Most visitors avoid drinking the tap water in India. Stick to boiled, fried food, and be sure to peel vegetables and fruit before eating to avoid nasty infections. Mumbai airport is located at 28 km from the city. Prepaid cabs into the city cost between about 450 and 600 Rs. Cabs in Mumbai are fairly cheap, with a minimum fare of Rs 21 for the first 1.5 km and then Rs 1 for every additional 100 metres. As city trains are very busy at certain times, many visitors will opt for buses. Purchase a bus day pass for Rs 70 (you will need a Smart photo ID card).
