Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport is by far the largest and most important airport in the US state of Nevada. By annual passenger numbers and flights operated, the airport is one of the 20 largest worldwide. Besides McCarran, the smaller North Las Vegas Airport is also in the greater Las Vegas region. Location
First used in 1942, the airport is about 3 miles south of downtown Las Vegas (Las Vegas Strip), in the suburb Paradise. Access to the terminal is on Nevada State Route 171 (Airport Spur Connector). Motorists should use the State Route 171 from the Interstate I-215 exits 9-11 or the Interstate I-15 exit 36.
Between the airport and the las Vegas Strip or downtown Transportation Center (DTC) the bus numbers 108 and 109 (RTC Transit) operate a regular service. The DTC then operates the bus number 106 to North Las Vegas Airport. Current departure times are available locally. Alternatively, taxis, limousines or rental cars are available.
