Location
The airport was opened in 1943 and is located about 4 miles southwest of the city centre. From Van use the D-300 (Ipek Yolu Caddesi) towards Edremit and follow the signs to the airport grounds.

Rail and bus passengers head for Van main bus or rail station and then use a minibus (dolmus) or a taxi to the airport.
