The airport is 4 miles south of downtown Santa Maria. Passengers arriving by car are best off taking the US-Highway 101 to exit #164 and should then follow the signs to the airport on E. Clark Avenue and then the Orcutt Expressway (State Road 135).
Rail passengers take the "Pacific Surfliner" route to Guadalupe Amtrak Rail Station, which is 9 miles from the airport. Then take the Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach Bus, which runs to downtown Santa Maria.
Between 6.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. the bus number 8, operated by SMAT runs daily at 30 minute intervals to the airport terminal. The current timetable is available locally.
