Airport Kastelorizo

Kastelorizo Airport is also known as Megisti and is an important nationally operating airport in Greece. It is in the west of the island of the same name, only about 1 mile from the Turkish mainland at its shortest point. The island is part of the Dodecanese and together with the surrounding uninhabited islands is the most easterly part of Greece. The airport is administered by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, which is also responsible for monitoring Greek aerospace.

Location
The airport was opened in 1986 and is about 1 mile south west of Megisti, the islands capital and is signposted. There is a local island bus service timed to correspond with the arrivals of Olympic Airlines flights. The bus transfers passengers to the city.
