Grand Junction Regional Airport, also known as Walker Field, is a small airport located in the administrative district of Mesa County, Colorado. Grand Junction is particularly popular in the summer months for tourists on activity holidays. It is the ideal starting point for white-water rafting along Gunnison River, a river that is well known nationwide for its strong currents and many rapids. The Colorado National Monument is also close by and boasts a spectacular landscape with numerous sandstone formations higher than 600 metres (1900 ft) in the Colorado Plateau. Here, there are also 8 other national parks and a number of nature reserves, such as Monument Valley, the Slot Canyon, or the Barr Ingersoll crater.

Location
The airport is ti be found approximately 3 miles northeast of Grand Junction on the 70th Interstate Highway. Passengers arriving by car please take the Interstate Highway 70 from Grand Junction towards Palisade and leave at exit # 31; then just follow the signs to the airport.

Rail passengers can reach the airport with the  "California Zehphyr" to Grand Junction Amtrak station, and then either take a taxi or catch the bus number 1 to the airprot, which is operated by Grand Valley Transit. For timetable information please enquire locally.
