Location
First opened in 1927, the airport is located approximately 6 km or 4 miles northeast of the city centre. It is accessible on the coastal road Aden - Al Kawd.

Getting to and from the airport using other means of transport is possible by shared taxi or bus, which are available from the terminals in Sheikh Othman. Buses serve Aden city along with several other major cities in Yemen such as Al-Hudayda, Al-Mukalla, San’a and Ta’izz. The journey to the inner city takes about 20 minutes. Passengers may also use a private taxi.
