Tunisair's fleet consists of 29 aircraft of the types Boeing and Airbus: 6 Airbus A320 (Economy Class with 174 seats), 6 Airbus A320 (Business Class, 25 seats / Economy Class: 120 seats), 2 Airbus A319 (Economy Class: 144 seats), 2 Airbus A319 ER (Business Class with 16 seats / Economy Class with 90 seats), 3 Airbus A300-600 (Business Class with 28 seats / Economy Class with 235 seats), 4 Boeing 737-500 (Economy Class with 126 seats) and 7 Boeing 737-600 (Economy Class with 126 seats).
History
Tunisia's national airline Tunisair was founded by the government on 21. October 1948 with money from the French airline Air France. The airline started operating with 4 Dakota DC3 aircraft, bought from the American army in 1947. Air France still owns 20 percent of the airline.
Network
Tunisair's flight network includes more than 44 destinations in over 30 countries. The airline operates flights to the most important countries in Europe as well as to destinations in the Middle East, eastern Europe and, in recent years, Africa. European destinations are for example: Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Lisbon.
