The State Unitary Enterprise Aviation Company "Arkhangelsk Airlines" was founded in May, 1991 by separating from Arkhangelsk First United Airsquard. The airline is possessed of 5 TU-154 aircraft, 7 TU-134 aircraft, 5 AN-24 aircraft, 8 AN-26 aircraft, and 1 YAK-40 aircraft (the total number is 26). The aviation company "Arkhangelsk Airlines" executes air transportation of passengers, mail, cargo and other air services by its own and leased aircraft TU-154, TU-134, AN-24, AN-26, YAK-40 types on the 18 regular air routes in 8 subjects of the Russian Federation and also operates flights outside the Russia (Finland, Sweden, Norway). The airline executes custom and charter flights, hands in rent aircraft, makes technical operation using its own facilities of the available aircraft fleet and operative maintenance of the aircraft taking depart from Arkhangelsk. The airline also renders stipendiary services on supplying aboard food for passengers and the crew, renders medical services, and conducts tourist activity. The aviation company "Arkhangelsk Airlines" is the biggest air transportation company in the region. It covers 93% of the passenger turnover and ton-kilometers of the Arkhangelsk Interregional Transport Department; 80% of passengers are transported by the airline's aircraft. "Arkhangelsk Airlines" is the only company in the region executing air transportation on the international air routes. The airline is the main user of the airport of Arkhagelsk. Two-third of the passengers departing from Arkhangelsk airport are using the airlines' aircraft. The passenger turnover in 2000 was 169 million passenger-kilometers, and with account of handed in rent aircraft and of special purpose works the passenger turnover counted 344 million passenger-kilometers being increased at 22%. The airline operated more than 4000 flights, transported 157 thousand passengers, 632 tons of cargo, and 226 tons of mail. The commercial loading is 62%, that is more than the all-Russia level. The first half-year results in 2001 show the growth of scope of works; the passenger turnover increased at 12%, and with account of handed in rent aircraft and of special purpose works it grew at 107%. The airline transported 10% more passengers, 45% more cargo and 2% more mail as compared to the previous year. More than 700 persons are employed at the enterprise; the productivity in 2000 has grown at 7% in comparison with the previous year. There were no air incidents, damages of the aircraft or extreme situations in "Arkhangelsk Airlines" in 2000. The total flight regularity in 2000 was 85%, and with account of meteorological conditions it was 94%, that, for example, is higher than in "Aeroflot-Russian airlines" joint stock company. The airline's income in 2000 grew at 62% that were 348 million roubles. The main source of the enterprise income are the regular air transportation services (67%), The volume of which has grown last year on 44%. Profitability of the airline's main activity is 1,6%, the profitability of the own capital is 3,4%, the profitability of the total capital is 1,3%. The parameters of business activity were improved - the turnover of debt arrears grew on 8% (70 days), credit arrears on 25% (122 days), the turnover of own and total capital grew on 8% and 14% correspondingly (87 and 230 days). At present two new big projects are being realized (arranging type TU-134 aircraft depot in Naryan-Mar and Apatity (Murmansk region). These projects allow to increase the airline's air transportation volumes. The activity is being conducted aimed on operating the international regular flights under the airline's own flag. The company "Arkhangelsk Airlines" is planning to attract investments in the amount of 1,5-2,0 million USD for the period from 5 up to 7 years for acquirement of aircraft equipment (vertical separation system - RVSM), and 5.0-15,0 million USD for the period 10 years and more for partial substitution of aircraft fleet.
