Island Aviation currently (November 2007) owns 3 de Havilland DHC-8 and 2 Dornier Do 228 aircraft in its fleet.
History
The first Maldivian national airline Island Aviation Services Ltd. was founded on 13th April 2000 by the government at the time. It is the only airline in the country and transports primarily local passengers and cargo within the atoll.
Network
The airline flies regularly from its base on Male to the atolls of Hanimadhoo, Kadhdhoo, Kaadedhoo and Gan. Probably from the beginning of 2008, the airline also plans to provide international connections to the federal southern Indian states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
