History
Eastern Airways launched in December with a route between Humberside and Aberdeen. A year later, in February 1999, the company acquired Air Kilroe, a small Manchester-based airline, and in 2003 took over routes and Jetstrem aircraft from British Airways CitiExpress.
The airline is owned by Bryan Huxford (50%) and Richard Lake (50%). Eastern Airways won the Airline of the Year Gold Award in the 2006/2007 season and the Airline of the Year Silver Award in the 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 seasons.
Network
Eastern Airways is a regionally operating airline with hubs in Humberside, Southhampton and Durham. From there, the entire British Isles are served. Regional destinations include Manchester, Dublin, Inverness, Isle of Man and Belfast City.
For passengers who place particular value on flexibility, Eastern Airways offers "special-to-order" charter flights for the British Isles but also to Europe.
