History
The Airline was founded in 1929 under the name, Compania Cubana Nacional de Aviation Curtiss. The company therefore showed its links to the aircraft manufacturer Curtiss. Flights began in 1930. The western fleet was replaced with soviet made aircraft after the US had begun its economic embargo against Cuba.
When the cold war ended and the Warsaw pact collapsed, Cuba again began to lease aircraft from the West.

Cubana flies to destinations in Canada (Toronto, Montreal), central and south America and Europe. European destinations include London, Paris, Madrid and Moscow.
