The U.S American airline, Cape Air, was founded in 1989 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Cape Air is the largest independent, regionally operating airline of the United States. Particularly in the holiday season, the carrier operates more than 850 flights daily, serving for example New Bedford, Ponce, Provincetown, Sarasota or Tortola. Due to its success in recent years, the airline is planning to not only provide services to other airports in the United States, but to also serve airports in the Bahamas.

History
On October 16, 1989 Cape Air had its first flight from Provincetown Airport to Boston, piloted by Dan Wolf, Cape Air's CEO and Founder. It began as three flights a day between P-Town and Boston and now it has grown to 600 flights per day with over 650,000 passengers annually.
