History
On 3rd April 2006 the Nigerian airline Arik Air took over the business of the bankrupt former national airline, Nigeria Airways, which had been forced to cease all flight operations in 2003. Since the company has been re-established, it has only been operating on domestic routes in Nigeria, but in the coming years plans to take up former international routes under its new name.
Network
Arik currently (2007) serves only airports within Nigeria. In the long-term, however, Nigeria Airways former routes will also be taken up. From its base in Lagos, Arik Air flies to Abuja, Enugu, Calabar, Benin, Port Harcourt, Kano, Warri and Jos.
