History
The New Caledonian airline Aircalin was founded in September 1983 in the capital Noumeá by the French bank Groupe Caisse d’Épargne.
Network
The airline flies regularly from its base in Noumeá to the international airports in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan; to the Australian airports Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney; the New Zealand airports of Auckland, Queenstown, Christchurch and Wellington, and the South Pacific international airports of Nadi in Fiji, Papeete in French Polynesia, Port Vila in Vanuatu and Wallis of Wallis and Futuna.
