First in use in 1956, the airport is about 5 miles southwest of the federal capital of the same name at the border of the neighboring town of Varzea Grande and near the MT-35 highway, which links the two cities. Taxis are available at the airport or there are a number of scheduled buses which run to the inner city. the bus stop is opposite the airport in front of the "Las Velas" Hotel.null
