Location
The airport is about 6 km or 4 miles west of Windsor Locks. The airport is accessible on the Interstate 91, close to Junction 39 and 40. Just after the exit, follow the airport signs on State Route 20 to the terminal. There is also an access on State Route 75.

Between the Transit Center in Hartford and the terminal there are regular bus routes operated by the 30 and 34 of CT Transit. Times are available locally.

History
After the Second World War, the airfield Windsor Lock was again opened for civilian use and renamed Bradley International Airport. The first civilian flight took place in 1947, when an airplane of Eastern Air Lines landed at the airport. Hartford Bradley airport finally replaced the older and smaller Hartford-Brainard Airport as Hartfords main airport. In 2005, Song Airlines on behalf of Delta Air Lines took up a direct route to Los Angeles (LAX).
