History
TUI Airwaysis a British airline from Manchester. It was founded as Euravia by the pilot Ted Langton of the former airline Universal Sky Tours on 1st December 1961. On 16 August 1964 the airline was renamed into what is probably the best-known airline in the British tourist industry, Britannia Airways. A year later the English organizers Thomson integrated the airline under its name. The airline continued to be known under its well-known name.
After 3 very successful decades in the tourist business, and having attained the position as the largest charter operator in the world, the German tourism group TUI finally took over the company in 2001. Only three years later the company’s name was changed to Thomsonfly. The tourist operator TUI also announced that it would pool all its Holding airlines under the name of TUIfly. In 2017 TUI renamed Thomson Airways to TUI Airways.
Network
TUI Airwaysoperates from a very dense network of about 20 British airports to around 90 airports worldwide, including to Agadir, Burgas, Corfu, Cancun, Holguin, Puerto Plata, Marsa Alam, Orlando, Ibiza, Mombasa, Male, Venice and Santorini.
