Fleet
The Russian airline S7 currently owns 5 Airbus A310-200, 2 Airbus 310-300, 11 Airbus A319-100, 2 Boeing 737-400, 10 Boeing 737-500, 8 Ilyushin II-86, 1 Tupolev Tu-154B and 28 Tupolev Tu-154M planes. A further 29 Airbus A320s, 10 Boeing 737-800 and 15 Boeing 787 have been ordered.
History
The Russian S7 Airlines was established in 1992 in Novosibirsk under the original name Siberia Airlines as a subsidiary of Aeroflot. The name change took place on 5th May 2006. According to its own figures, the airline has in the meantime overtaken Aeroflot in the domestic sector and provides more than 120 connections daily, most of which are from Moscow. It also offers international destinations to more than 20 countries. The old lettering and blue-and-white painting of the aircraft was replaced when the airline was renamed by the new lettering S7 and the new bright green color.
Network
The network of routes of the Russian Federations second largest airline comprises more than 80 airports, from the base in Moscow and the hubs in Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Chelyabinsk. Domestic Russian connections are for example to Anapa, Vladivostok, Volgograd, Kazan, Magadan, Novokuznetsk, Yakutsk and Omsk. International destinations include Baku, Bangkok, Beijing, Varna, Hannover, Dushanbe, Yerevan, Chisinau and Seoul.
