San Antonio International Airport is a commercial airport in San Antonio, in the US-state of Texas and also the main airport for the San Antonio Metropolitan Area. It is in Northern San Antonio, about 21 km from downtown San Antonio. San Antonio Airport System is operated by the City of San Antonio Department of Aviation, which is also responsible for operating Stinson Municipal Airport.

The airport is in near the northeastern corner of the junction of the I-410 and US 281. Rail passengers take the "Sunset Limited" or the "Texas-Eagle" Amtrak services to San Antonio Rail Station and change for the bus #5 (McCULLOUGH) of the local transport operator VIA Metropolitan Transit.

Since April 2006 Southwest Airlines has transported 35% of all the passengers and is thereby the largest airline to operate at San Antonio Airport. American, Continental und Delta are the next three largest airlines. From February to September 2006, United Airlines has had a hub at San Antonio, with flights to 12 cities together with its partner Trans States Airlines.

At present the airport is being extended, comprising the construction of a new terminal building and parking facilities. The access to the airport is also being improved by converting the Interstate 410 and the U.S. Highway 281.
