There are two main commercial airports serving the Chicago area:
Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) is located on Michigan Lake, 18 miles north west of the city of Chicago. The airport is served by national and international flights and is one of the busiest airports in the world. The airline may be reached using trains of the Blue Line, regional buses and shuttles.
Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) is located south west of the city. The airport is secondary to Chicago O’Hare Airport, but does serve a lot of domestic destinations including those operated by low cost carriers, for example Southwest Airlines, AirTran Airlines, and ATA Airlines.
